Although I am the Assistant Principal Cellist for the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, I have performed and recorded with groups of all genres. As an educator, I have coached cello and string orchestra at Eckstein Middle School, Garfield High School, University Prep, TOPS at Seward and the Seattle Youth Symphony.
“Music education is fundamental to a well-rounded education.” -Virginia Dziekonski
I believe that basic music education is fundamental to a well-rounded education, and I love helping my students succeed on the cello. In doing so, my students are able to join an orchestra, make great friends, and be exposed to some travel opportunities that they may not have otherwise.
Music Education History
Bachelor of Arts – University of Washington
Since graduating from the University of Washington, I have maintained an active private studio out of my home. I’m proud to say that I’m one of the founding members as well as Assistant Principal Cellist for the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra. Playing in an orchestra with such amazing colleagues allows me to continue to be challenged and maintain a high performance standard. I continue to learn from other performance opportunities, teachers, and my students.
I’m lucky to frequently play Principal Cello for 5th Avenue Theater and Paramount Theater. Musical Theater is the best!
I love playing as Principal Cellist for the St. James Cathedral Chamber Orchestra, Choral Arts Northwest, and the Northwest Film Scoring Institute under the direction of Hummie Mann. (Hummie is a well known film composer for Mel Brooks films)
I also played for Evanescence on their debut album, “Bring Me To Life”, and their 2019 tour, Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tour, and the Johnny Matthis Tour.
In 2000 I toured with the Phillip Glass chamber opera “In the Penal Colony” in Seattle, Chicago and New York.
