Practicing Musician’s Trumpet Teacher Director of Instrumental Music – Bellevue College Director of the Bellevue College Jazz Bands
Currently, I am the Director of Instrumental Music at Bellevue College and have taught trumpet and jazz improvisation in Seattle since 1997. I also run the jazz activities for the Midsummer Musical Retreat, an adult music camp in Eastern Washington and have been the Director of the Shoreline Jazz Camp for the past 14 years.
Music affords me the opportunity to connect with others in ways that are difficult to describe. That said, I have grown to appreciate the process of practicing alone as much as I enjoy performing with others. As an educator, my goal is to help students build confidence in their playing through a variety of exercises and experiences that are both fun and challenging. The process of learning a musical instrument is a lifelong endeavor that requires patience, humility, forgiveness, and dedication. Practicing Musician is your gateway to a lifetime of fun and musical fulfillment.
